Why work with us

Katherine Staniland

Project Architect

Since joining GHA in June 2006, I have progressed from a Part 2, direct from university, to a Project Architect leading a team through the day to day running of projects.

GHA understand the importance of training and investing in staff, with their support I have completed my Part 3 professional studies and a MSc in Construction Law part-time.

GHA's diverse and interesting portfolio of work has offered me fresh and exciting opportunities to develop my skills in all sectors. During my time at GHA, I have worked in housing, masterplanning, commercial and public sectors. The project budgets have been varied but we have always aimed to deliver projects that meet the clients requirements through clever, high quality design, this has resulted in my role continuing to be challenging and rewarding.

The practice has a great team of people and the summer and winter office away days are always a highlight, allowing staff to socialise as a whole.

Fraser Godfrey

During my time at GHA, I have been provided with continued support and sponsorship throughout my Part 2 and Part 3 studies.

Joining the practice as a Part 1 in 2010, I have particularly enjoyed the studio-culture where creativity and developing new skills are actively encouraged and fostered.

I have experienced all aspects of planning and design work across a number of sectors from one-off residential projects to large-scale masterplanning strategies.

My underlying enthusiasm for architecture and design has continued to grow and the richness and reward of working in such a diverse practice has been well worth the hard work. Crucially, GHA has given me the opportunity to meet some extraordinary people both professionally and socially.
