Today, the office is celebrating a hard fought and painful victory, following the completion of the 52-mile Ridgewalk by 11 determined members of our team. This act of endurance was all in aid of Sense, the leading national charity for the deafblind, with whom we are working closely with to develop the new TouchBase Pears community centre in Selly Oak, Birmingham, due to open in July.
Our team has raised an incredible sum of £4,675 so far. Their JustGiving page is still open and welcome to any and all donations. You can follow this link to donate. The money raised this year is in addition to the £3,300 raised in 2016 in the shorter (but no less challenging) 26-mile Ridgewalk, completed by many of the same athletes. All of this money, as well as the newly built centre, will help to provide specialist care and support for the deafblind community, helping to change their lives for the better.
This achievement is a testament to the groups’ physical stamina, perseverance and team spirit and will be remembered as a fantastic team and community event. The event would not have been possible without the dedication and love of the fantastic support team and their constant supply of water, biscuits and plasters. All of us at GHA are very proud of their achievements.
