Regus brand Spaces is set to take the entirety of 125 Deansgate, designed by GHA for Worthington Group, which is currently under construction in Manchester city centre. The co-working offices are due to open in early 2020 and Spaces will lease the whole 10,776 square metres of office floorspace.
Speaking to Place North West, UK chief executive of Spaces Richard Morris said:
“Demand for flexible office space is growing rapidly. This is something we are especially seeing in Manchester, with estimates highlighting that flexible office space in the city is expected to double in the next four years. People now recognise that they can be far more productive and successful in a dynamic working environment, while businesses are waking up to the financial and strategic benefits. Spaces is helping to supply this demand and drive a workspace revolution in Britain. We’re thrilled to be opening our second Spaces location in Manchester, the largest centre to date in the UK, highlighting the growing demand from those in the city and beyond for flexible working.”
125 Deansgate is a distinct office scheme positioned on Manchester’s Deansgate between the gateway to Spinningfields and its civic heart at St Peter’s Square. Director Dav Bansal said
“Our aim was to provide modern, open, grade A workspace that had an optimum occupational density whilst being attractive to different kinds of potential occupiers. This also meant it needed to be flexible with both smaller suites and single floors, right up to the potential to be a single HQ workplace. Ultimately, the heart of the brief lay with the Worthington family – their collaboration and engagement throughout the creative design process drove us to make this something beyond just a conventional office development. We believe its appropriate scale and crafted workmanship of terracotta detailing, coupled with its modern method of prefabricated construction has created a confident and contemporary addition to Deansgate.”
