Known as The Belvedere, GHA’s £80m mixed-use scheme for developer Altitude Real Estate will be a vibrant addition to central Royal Tunbridge Wells. This long-awaited development is expected to attract new visitors, residents, retailers and restaurateurs to Royal Tunbridge Wells and transform this part of the town centre - which has lain dormant since the turn of the century.

Located on the 1.6-acre site of the former ABC Cinema, the contemporary development responds sympathetically to its immediate historical context and will create a vibrant public realm in addition to an attractive destination in the town centre with an improved retail and leisure offer.

The seven-storey 165,000 sq. ft. provides 33,000 sq. ft. of street-level shops, 21,000 sq. ft. of podium level cafes and restaurants, the 10,000 sq. ft. Everyman Cinema, up to 10,000 sq. ft. of medical or office space, and around 100 contemporary apartments set around a private landscaped garden.

Due to its prominent position, the project is seen as a strategically important site that will bring the town’s existing retail centres together. Working alongside Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and local residents, it is hoped that this major mixed-use development will provide the catalyst for further regeneration of the town centre.
