GHA Staff complete 26 mile trek in aid of Sense

June 24, 2016

At 12.01am on Sunday 19 June sixteen GHA staff set off along Britain’s oldest road, the Ridgeway, as part of ‘The 2016 RidgeWalk,’ a 26-mile challenge in aid of Sense, a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind or have sensory impairments.

The trek took the team through an area of outstanding national beauty in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire and across the stunning North Wessex Downs. The team were very grateful that the weather stayed dry, and as the sun rose in the early hours of Sunday morning they were rewarded with some gorgeous scenery. It took sheer guts, determination, blood, sweat, tears and the sacrificing of toe nails but every single member of the team successfully completed the challenge.

Sense’s new TouchBase community centre in Birmingham, designed by Glenn Howells Architects, is currently on site and we are lucky that our ongoing partnership with Sense allows us to witness the fantastic work of the charity. The whole team have been blown away by the support and generosity they have received so far and their Just Giving page is still open for donations.
