On Wednesday night over 100 built environment enthusiasts populated Nest Canteen at 321 Bradford Street for Building Brum: A Room With A View. The sold out event, hosted by Glenn Howells Architects, Urban Splash, Kier and RPS, was on the theme of housing in Birmingham – past, present and future.
We were joined by special guest speakers:
Glenn Howells – Director, Glenn Howells Architects
Joe Holyoak – Architect and Urban Designer
Adam Willetts – Senior Development Manager , Urban Splash
Simon Delahunty-Forrest – Architect and Urban Designer, City & Design & Conservation Manager at Planning & Regeneration Birmingham City Council
Luke Fowler – BIM Coordinator, Kier Construction Major Projects
The speakers were able to share ideas on the past and how it is serving to shape the future of housing in Birmingham. Hearing from these individuals, all working in the city, sparked a lively conversation and debate in the Q&A.
The event is part of a series of cross institute networking evenings, running throughout 2017, created by the RIBA to explore Birmingham and showcase the future of the city.
